Dinner is served! Fast Forward concluded 2018 with a warm event.

We always start a new year with good resolutions, but how about finishing the year with a good deed for a change? Carrefour, De Voedselbanken, Publicis and Fast Forward teamed up for a startlingly beautiful initiative.

We all have the right to what is best for us. That was the philosophy behind the Solidary Kitchen, by Carrefour. We launched a big pop-up kitchen where Sandra Bekkari and a team of volunteers stirred the pots, all with one main goal: whip up 2000 festive meals in four days, to give the less privileged a warm ending of the year. The Voedselbanken took on the distribution of the meals, because Christmas is all about giving, after all.

On December 14th and 15th, the pop-up kitchen landed in Brussels, moving to Mechelen one week later. Logistically speaking, we faced a significant challenge, but we managed to host a very successful pop-up. Random passers-by could witness the enthusiastic chefs during their cooking marathon and our followers could monitor the counter on the outside screen see whether we would reach our preconceived goal of 2000 meals … Thanks to the intense teamwork, no less than 2224 meals were prepared. It is safe to say that everyone outdid themselves. Warm hearts and happy people galore. Mission accomplished.
